Are the prints matted?
Because of the large size of the murals most the prints don’t require matting to look good.  We offer a 3” white border around the perimeter on request for the matting effect.

Are the mural prints framed?
No. We can handle framing for the customer but the extra costs incurred for packing and shipping can get excessive because of the large scale and possible shipping damage.  We recommend that you have the murals custom framed locally.

Do the murals have to be framed?
Not necessarily.  The mural prints can be mounted on a rigid stata such as Gatorboard http://store.foamboardsource.com/gatorfoams--gatorfoam.htmland mounted on the wall.  We recommend the french cleat fashioned from 1/2” gatorboard to mount it on the wall.  Metal ones are available as well. http://www.govart.com/hardware_cleat.html For the extra large wall paper versions, framing with baseboard moulding works effectively.  Three inch wide frames look most dramatic.

Do the murals need glass?
We generally show the archival mural prints without glass and they hold up good in interior space environments.  Locations in direct sun are not recommended for any art work.  If you want the extra protection we recommend plastic rather than glass because of the size and weight.

Can I get larger scale murals printed on something like wall paper material?
Yes, many different durable materials are available and we have a directory of installers throughout the United States that are professional and reasonable.

What types of material are available to print on?
Our standard prints are printed on quality 308 gram Hahnemuhle paper with archival inks.  We can also print on many other stratas including aluminum, durable pvc panels, canvas, satin, or plastic for different dramatic effects. For full fledged floor to ceiling murals we have a variety of materials we can recommend. Shipping charges are extra for any rigid materials. Call us for recommendation and information.

Can the mural prints be laminated for protection?
We don’t recommend lamination for the archival papers because it is permanent but most of the other strata can be laminated for an extra charge. We recommend matte for its softer look which eliminates glare problems from sunlight or and offers UV protection. On most of the available material the inks are very durable and usually don’t require much protection.

Can the prints be printed in larger or smaller dimensions?
Yes, our standard prints are offered in the most popular dimensions but the size of the prints can be made larger or smaller proportionally to fit a special custom space. How are they shipped and how long does it take for shipping?
They are rolled and shipped in a box. We usually ship via Fedex Ground for domestic shipments. They ship in 3-5 days. For Canadian, International and destinations outside the continental U.S., Airmail Parcel Post tends to be the best value which takes about 4 -10 days. We can use all other carriers by request.
